The real test

How to find a niche on YouTube

A good channel direction connects a clear viewer, a repeatable subject and questions you can answer well.

01 / VIEWER

Be specific about who

“Fitness” is broad. “Strength training for people returning after a long break” tells you what your next video might cover.

02 / EVIDENCE

Inspect actual videos

Search your candidate topic on YouTube. Look at recent uploads, comments, recurring questions and whether smaller channels have relevant videos.

03 / REPEATABILITY

List ten honest ideas

Could you make ten useful videos without repeating yourself or pretending to know more than you do? If not, refine the angle.

Example: “Coffee” could become “simple home espresso for beginners using affordable equipment.” That gives you a viewer, a constraint and testable video topics. It still needs checking against real YouTube videos and questions.

Compare ideas

Score the evidence, not a promise

Give each candidate 0, 1 or 2 points for every check. A higher score means a stronger starting hypothesis, not a guarantee of channel growth.

Questions

Before you commit to a channel

Is this a live YouTube data tool?

No. It turns your topic and audience into channel directions you can research. Use the suggested directions to research current videos and viewer questions yourself.

Can I use this for a faceless channel?

Yes. Choose voiceover, screen recording or hands-on demonstrations as your format. Your ability to make original, useful videos still matters.

What if my topic has lots of competitors?

Look for a more specific viewer or a question that existing videos answer poorly. Competition alone does not prove a niche is good or bad.

Will choosing a niche guarantee views or earnings?

No. This page helps with initial direction. Video quality, consistency, audience response and many other factors affect what happens next.
